- Certified copy of your matric certificate if you have already completed school
- Proof of payment of the application fee where one applies

- Supporting documents for specific programmes (portfolio, medical report) where required
Step by step
-
Apply free on the UWC student portal
Applications go through student.uwc.ac.za. UWC's 2027 Application Guide states applicants are not required to pay an application fee. -
Read the official 2027 Application Guide
UWC publishes a full 2027 Application Guide PDF and a General Admissions Criteria 2027 document on uwc.ac.za. These are the authoritative source for per-programme requirements. -
Note the oral health deadline
Dentistry and oral health close on 31 August 2026, a month before everything else. UWC's guide states this explicitly. -
Work out your UWC points
UWC uses a UWC Points System set out in the 2027 Application Guide. It is its own scheme - an APS calculated for UP or Wits does not apply here. -
Apply early rather than late
UWC does not publish a formal late-application policy. Its guidance is simply to apply early, so treat 30 September as a hard stop.
Dates and fee, from UWC's own guide
UWC is among the best-documented universities for 2027 - it publishes a dedicated application guide with the dates stated plainly:
- Opening: 1 April 2026
- General closing: 30 September 2026
- Dentistry and oral health: 31 August 2026
- Fee: none - "Applicants are not required to pay an application fee"
The UWC Points System
UWC does not use the APS familiar from UP or Wits. Its 2027 Application Guide sets out a UWC Points System with its own calculation.
This matters practically: if you have calculated an APS for another university, you cannot assume it maps across. Check your programme's requirement in the UWC guide directly.
Campuses and contact
