Who can apply
- Grade 9 minimum for NCV Level 2 (Grade 10/11 preferred)
- Matric for most NATED N4+ programmes
- Grade 9 for N1 engineering theory
- SA citizens for NSFAS funding (household income ≤ R350,000)
- Foreign applicants accepted with valid passport / study permit

Open the application portal
Go to falsebaycollege.co.za and click "Apply Now" — this redirects to the Academia ERP applicant portal at falsebay.academiaerp.com.Tip: Use Chrome or Firefox — Internet Explorer isn't supported. -
Register your profile
You'll receive an AP (Applicant) number plus a password via SMS and email. Save both — you'll need them to log back in if your connection drops or to track your application. -
Complete the application form
Select up to 3 qualifications across campuses. Only one offer can be accepted, so prioritise carefully. Match the programme to the campus that offers it (e.g. no Engineering at Fish Hoek). -
Upload certified documents
Clear PDFs only. Certifications must be within the last 3 months. -
Submit and watch for the offer
False Bay issues offers at predetermined evaluation intervals. Offers expire 5 days from issue — accept promptly or you lose the place. -

Register on campus
Bring original ID + all certified copies, pay deposit (or present NSFAS approval letter), choose modules and get your student number.

NATED N4–N6 is being phased out nationally; last enrolments through 2026, replaced by Occupational Certificates.

Fees (2026 indicative)
All fees regulated by DHET:
- NCV Finance, Economics & Accounting: ~R13,394/level
- NCV Office Administration: ~R11,973/level
- NCV IT & Computer Science: ~R18,343/year
- NATED N4–N6 (Engineering, e.g. Electrical): ~R2,860/trimester
- NATED N1–N6 general: R3,200/semester or R800–R1,055/module
Payment terms:
- NCV: 20% on registration + 4 equal 20% instalments (Feb–May)
- Semester full-time: 25% registration + 3 instalments
- NATED trimester: 50% on registration + 50% one month after start
Discounts: 20% off NCV if paid in full by 31 January; 7.5% if paid by 31 May; 20% off NATED if paid by month-end of class start; 10% sibling discount on the higher-fee sibling.
NSFAS at False Bay
False Bay is fully NSFAS-accredited (listed in the NSFAS institutions directory).
- Eligibility: SA citizen; combined household income ≤ R350,000/year (R600,000 with disability); SASSA recipients auto-qualify
- Coverage: Tuition, registration, books, personal-care allowance, transport, and accommodation allowance for qualifying contact students
- Apply: Create a myNSFAS account at nsfas.org.za, upload certified ID, proof of income, and academic results
- 2026 deadlines: Main cycle closed 15 November 2025; Trimester 2 6–18 May 2026; Semester 2 1–17 July 2026; Trimester 3 3–14 September 2026
- Distance-learning students do NOT qualify for allowances — only fee assistance
Residence / accommodation
Limited. On-campus residence is offered only at Westlake Campus, and only for students in Occupational Programmes at Westlake who live more than 40km away.
All other students rely on private accommodation (NSFAS Private Accommodation Allowance available to qualifying students). No residences at Fish Hoek, Muizenberg, Khayelitsha or Mitchells Plain.

Common issues
- Browser incompatibility — use Chrome or Firefox; Internet Explorer isn't supported
- Document rejection — certifications older than 3 months, blurry scans, or non-PDF files
- 5-day offer expiry — applicants miss the window and lose their place
- Programme not available at preferred campus — check campus-by-campus availability before applying
- NSFAS funding decision delays — register provisionally, follow up via myNSFAS
- Third-party scams — don't submit ID copies to unofficial Facebook "agents"
- Distance learners assuming they get NSFAS allowances — they don't
