Step by step
-
Open the right MTN portal
Two entry points: group.mtn.com/vacancies for group-wide, executive and graduate roles, and mtn.co.za/skillsbox for SA learnerships and youth programmes.Tip:
mtn.com/careers
returns a 404 — don't waste time looking for it. The Y'ello Family page is the correct landing. -
Click into the Oracle Recruiting Cloud
Both portals push you into MTN's Oracle Recruiting Cloud (ORC) at ehle.fa.em2.oraclecloud.com. Use the filters — Country = South Africa, Category, Posting Date — to narrow the listings. -
Open a requisition and check the closing date
Vacancies are typically open for 10 working days; re-advertised roles for 5. Submit before the cut-off — late applications are auto-rejected. -
Create your candidate account
Click Apply, then Create Account. Verify your email and complete the candidate profile (personal details, work history, education, skills, language). -
Upload your CV and answer screening questions
PDF preferred, under 5MB. The parser will populate fields — review for accuracy. Answer requisition-specific questions (citizenship, work permit, notice period, salary expectation). -
Submit and join the Talent Community
You'll get an auto-acknowledgement. If no current vacancy matches, opt into the Talent Community for alerts — most permanent recruitment draws from there.Tip: Shortlisted candidates are typically contacted within 2 weeks of the vacancy closing. End-to-end average is around 42 days.

Call centre roles — the most common entry point
Call centre agent is the most common entry into MTN for matriculants. Roles are primarily based at Fairland and Randburg with regional hubs.
Requirements: matric, about 1 year prior contact-centre experience, computer literacy and a polite phone manner.
Salaries are not officially published by MTN; third-party estimates range from R8,000 to R16,000 a month for agents, with senior agents and team leads earning more. Many permanent agents are former learnership graduates.
Spotting an MTN job scam
MTN is one of the most-impersonated brands in SA recruitment fraud. Known patterns:
- WhatsApp "MTN recruiter" messages from Gmail/Yahoo-linked numbers offering instant jobs for a "registration", "uniform", "training" or "courier" fee, typically R150–R500 via e-wallet or instant EFT
- Fake MTN appointment letters on near-identical letterhead sent as PDF after the fee is paid
- Cloned websites on look-alike domains (mtn-careers.co.za, mtn-recruitment.com)
- Fake Facebook groups, X accounts and Telegram channels posting "32 MTN vacancies, no experience needed"
- Requests for your full ID number, banking details, eWallet PIN, or copies of bank cards before interview
How to verify:
- The URL must end at mtn.com, group.mtn.com, mtn.co.za or the official Oracle ORC tenant (ehle.fa.em2.oraclecloud.com)
- MTN never asks for payment at any stage
- Communication always comes from @mtn.com or @mtn.co.za — never Gmail/Yahoo/Outlook
- Cross-check the requisition number from the message against the live listing on group.mtn.com/vacancies/
- If unsure, phone +27 11 912 3000 and ask to be transferred to People & Culture
